About Otti

Hi, I’m Otti

Watercolour artist and teacher who loves helping people discover their own creative flow.

Why I Started With Otti

I started my art business because I believe creativity should be about enjoying the process, not chasing perfection. These days there’s so much pressure to get everything “right,” but I think art should make us laugh at ourselves and simply have fun. My classes are relaxed and light-hearted — focused on social connection, self-expression, and learning a versatile new hobby.

Watercolour is wonderfully portable; you can take a small palette anywhere and capture moments as little painted memories. After five years of sharing this passion, nothing is more rewarding than seeing others discover the same joy in creating just for the love of it.

The Psychology of Creativity & Flow

With a background in Psychology, I like to tailor my class to use watercolours to enhance wellbeing.

Mindfulness in motion:
The gentle flow of water and pigment encourages you to slow down, be present, and focus on what’s happening in front of you — similar to meditation. Watching colours blend and move across the page naturally grounds you in the moment.

Letting go of control:
Because watercolour has a mind of its own, it teaches acceptance and flexibility. You can’t always predict the outcome, which helps you loosen perfectionist tendencies and embrace imperfection — a powerful lesson for everyday life.

Stress relief through creativity:
Painting provides an outlet for emotions, offering calm after a busy day. It’s a tactile, sensory experience that gives your brain a break from screens and constant stimulation.

Connection and joy:
Sharing the experience in a relaxed class environment builds community and belonging. Laughing over “happy accidents” or experimenting together creates genuine social connection — something that greatly boosts wellbeing.
